Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk
Last updated: October 2026
This page summarizes the waiver that every participant signs on arrival. The signed paper or e-signed waiver is the controlling document. An attorney licensed in Alabama must review and adapt the final waiver. This summary is not legal advice.
What you are agreeing to on arrival
All hunters, guests, and visitors at Great Southern Outdoors are required to sign a written Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk before participating in any hunting, lodging, ATV/UTV transport, fishing, or other on-property activity. By booking, you agree to sign this waiver. Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian co-sign.
Risks you acknowledge
- Firearm and archery use, including handling by other hunters in the party.
- Falls from tree stands, ground blinds, and uneven terrain.
- ATV/UTV and other vehicle transport on rural and wooded roads.
- Wildlife encounters, including deer, hogs, snakes, and insects.
- Weather exposure: heat, cold, lightning, wind, and storms.
- Remote location: emergency medical response may take longer than in an urban setting.
Your responsibilities
- Hold all required Alabama hunting licenses, stamps, and permits.
- Follow all Alabama hunting laws, bag limits, season dates, and weapon restrictions.
- Handle firearms safely and follow your guide's instructions at all times.
- Disclose any medical condition that could affect your safety in the field.
- Refrain from hunting or handling firearms while impaired.
Insurance
Great Southern Outdoors strongly recommends that every participant carry their own current health insurance. The lodge does not provide medical insurance for guests.
